This Certificate of Authenticity documents the provenance and authentication assessment of the item described above. The item has been examined and assessed by ASA – Authentication Services Australia, with consideration given to established reference material, known exemplars, provenance information, and relevant professional authentication criteria. Based on the provenance information associated with the item, it is understood that the item was personally signed by Sex Pistols band members Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Sid Vicious on 8 December 1977 in Arnhem, Netherlands.
As part of the authentication process, each signature was individually examined and compared against known and accepted autograph exemplars attributed to the respective band members. The examination considered a range of recognised handwriting and signature characteristics, including letter formation, structure, slant, proportion, spacing, pen movement, line quality, fluency, pressure patterns, size, rhythm, connecting strokes and other distinctive individual characteristics.
